Edensveil is the name of our home in Bellingham, Washington. Situated on three quarters of an acre with tree-filtered views of nearby Bellingham Bay, our home is the focal point of our life together, our family, and our mutual joy in creating beauty. The name? When we first spotted this place in 1997 it felt a bit like paradise, like a return to the garden of Eden. Eden's Vale seemed an appropriate name. But that got changed to Edensveil because in this life we can only see glimpses of paradise, of the kind of life we started with and are destined for. It is a shrouded, misty view, confounded by slugs, weeds, death, illness, bad temper, cruelty, and all the things that make this life less than paradise. But, if one still has the heart and eyes to see it, paradise is still visible. This little farm is my constant reminder of both the hope, joy and promise of paradise and the veil that restricts our view.

When we built our chicken coupe we were worried about neighbor dogs and wildlife that would get in the chickens yard area and kill them. We built a yard area that has fencing around all sides and then also over the top and then on the outer primeter we put an electric net fence from “fast fence” which has worked great.
